Renmore rat-run closed

TRAFFIC calming measures have been introduced to a road in Renmore this week to cut off a popular rat run.

Yesterday, Gardaí were on hand at the junction of the link road connecting Renmore Park and Renmore Road (at the Centra shop), to help ease introduction of the new traffic system.

Traffic is now confined to one way eastwards (going up the hill) for 95 metres only, with two way traffic to facilitate residents allowed on the top one third of the link road only.

The new traffic management measures were introduced following complaints from local residents that motorists were using the residential road as a rat run to get onto the main Dublin Road, posing dangers for children and increasing traffic volumes through their area.

New signage and road markings are already in place and in general ………….
