A Galway Senator is critising the Minister of Education for not making plans to fund a primary school and multi-cultural centre in Doughiska.

Senator Fidelma Healy Eames wants the facilities to serve the new 8,000 strong population of the area.

Senator Healy Eames says there are 36 nationalities living in the area and insists these facilities are needed for cultural integration and to avoid social problems such as ghettoisation.

She believes a new school should serve the parishes of Doughiska, Roscam and the proposed new suburb of Ardaun.
