Reggae legends for Roisin Dubh
Date Published: 04-Jul-2008
THE true architects of Reggae, Jamaican outfit Toots and The Maytals come to the Róisín Dubh on Sunday, July 13.
The band have been working together since the 1960s, and are a legend in the world of Reggae, even being credited with having coined the term on their 1968 single Do The Reggay.
The group was awarded a Grammy in 2005 for True Love, where their classic songs were re-recorded alongside artists such as Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, No Doubt and The Roots.
This is an all too rare chance to see these legends play in such an intimate venue. Songs like Pressure Drop are part of the fabric of reggae and these veterans are bound to put on a stellar show.
Reggae fans will be buzzing about this show and should make it their business to catch Toots and The Maytals in action.
Tickets €50/45. Doors 9pm.
