RECEIVER APPOINTED TO TWO CITY HOTEL PROPERTIES

A receiver has been appointed to two city hotel properties owned by Galway firm R. Byrne Concrete Limited.

The list of specified assets owned by R. Byrne includes city properties, the Salthill Hotel and the Victoria Hotel.

Tom O’Brien of Mazars Ireland has been appointed as the receiver to specified assets of R. Byrne Concrete Limited.

These include two hotel properties – the Salthill Hotel and the Victoria Hotel, and a number of other commercial properties in the city.

The receiver has moved to reassure the public that he has no jurisdiction over the operating companies – the Salthill Court Hotel Limited and Victoria Towers Hotel Limited.

He says his appointment has no impact on day-to-day operations and there will be no change to staffing or to the existing management with business functioning as normal.

In a statement to Galway Bay fm news, General Manager of the Salthill Hotel Daniel Corbett says both hotels have been trading successfully for the past 15 years.

He adds that both are profitable and performing strongly, with double digit growth year-on-year, and will continue to operate as normal.
