The inquest into the death of Savita Halappanavar at University Hospital Galway has concluded for this afternoon before Coroner Ciaran MacLoughlin.

Upon questioning by the Coroner, HSE Senior Counsel Declan Buckley said Dr Ikechukwu Uzockwu, otherwise known as Dr.

Ike, will be in attendance next Wednesday.

It followed an earlier request for Dr Ike and Midwife Manager Ann Maria Burke to return before the inquest.

They have both previously given their statement evidence earlier this week.

Both have given varying accounts of the time of a phone call and the content of that phone call.

The Coroner was told they will now both attend next Wednesday when the inquest will move to County Hall.

ICU Consultant Anaesthetist Paul Naughton also gave his witness statement today.

He told the inquest he was involved in Savita’s care from Friday October 26th when she had sepsis to Sun October 28th, the night she died.
