‘Real deal’ Dan Walsh plays Monroe’s Live
Singer and musician Dan Walsh plays Monroe’s Live this Sunday, April 28.
He is touted as one of the finest banjo players in the UK as well as being a skilled singer, songwriter and guitarist whose style takes in folk, funk, bluegrass, jazz, rock and even Arabic.
After three years of touring the UK as one half of award nominated duo Walsh and Pound, Dan is returning to his solo gigs, as well as fronting an all-new Dan Walsh band made up of outstanding and award-winning musicians including the Shee’s Rachel Newton and drummer Adam Sinclair whose credits range from the New York Dolls to the Unthanks.
He’s also recently been on the stage and in the studio with Seth Lakeman and the Levellers as well as receiving enthusiastic reviews and radio airplay on both sides of the Atlantic for his new album, The Same but Different.
He retains a passion for outreach work and through the UK’s Live Music Now scheme he has performed in hospices, hospitals and care homes throughout Britain.
A virtuoso, who has has been described as ‘the real deal’ by Uncut magazine, Dan Walsh will be playing in the Backstage Bar of Monroe’s Live.
