Quarter of a billion needed to upgrade Galways roads
Galway Bay fm newsroom – A study has revealed that almost a quarter of a billion euro would be required to upgrade all County Galway roads to optimal condition.
At present, the condition of just under 20% of County Galway roads carry a rating of less than four, and are described as ‘unsatisfactory.’
An estimated 246 million euro would bring all roads in the county up to a rating of 9 or 10, and a further ten million euro per year would be required for maintenance.
Galway County Council was allocated 24-point-two million euro for roads this year.
