PUBLIC WARNED OF FRESH HIGH TIDE THREAT IN CITY AND COUNTY
Date Published: 08-Nov-2010
We’re being warned coastal areas of the city and county are not out of danger yet from sea flooding.
A high tide is forecast for six o’clock this evening, which, combined with strong west to northwest winds, could cause some coastal flooding.
The Prom in Salthill, Silverstrand beach and the entrance to Ballyloughane beach in the city were all closed for a time last evening due to high seas.
The city council has criticised some members of the public for walking onto the diving platform at Salthill during the storm last night.
