Public vote for change of use at Lynch’s castle in shop street
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Lynch’s castle at Shop street in the city should be used as a heritage facility.
That’s according to a recent survey carried out by students at the Galway Mayo Insitute of Technology.
Almost a thousand people were asked one question by the heritage degree students ‘should Lynch’s castle be converted into a heritage facility?’
88 percent of people replied ‘yes’ and 12 percent answered ‘no’.
An online survey was also conducted by the students using Facebook and Twitter and the same question had a 90% ‘yes’ response.
The building is currently used as a branch for AIB.
