PUBLIC RESISTS CLOSURE OF CONNEMARA GARDA STATIONS

Two public rallies in support of rural Garda Stations were held in Connemara yesterday evening.

Both rallies – one in Ros Muc and one in Carna – were organised by community groups and were attended by a number of public representatives.

It follows reports that up to 200 Garda stations may be shut nationwide as the force prepares for cuts to its funding in the upcoming budget.
