Public ‘open days’ for Ceannt station revamp

Members of the public will be able to view the most up-to-date plans for the controversial €1billion redevelopment of Ceannt Station during two ‘Open Days’ which are set to take place in the city next week.

Planning consultants will be available to answer questions and hear submissions from local people concerning the proposed transformation of the rail and bus station.

Far more detailed plans will be available than at the initial launch back in February, when outrage was expressed in some quarters after it emerged that 800 apartments were included in the plans.

CIE have already rejected claims that they are attempting to ‘fast-track’ the plans through the normal planning process by going directly to An Bord Pleanala, rather than the City Council.
