Public meeting to discuss future of Barnaderg Post Office

Galway Bay fm newsroom – A public meeting is being held this evening to discuss the future of Barnaderg Post Office.
The meeting comes as the community awaits a decision from An Post on its possible closure.
It’s now three months since submissions were sought from the public on retaining the service.
Locals, businesses, schools and groups have made hundreds of submissions to keep the facility open, while more than 12 hundred people signed their name to a petition of support.
The Barnaderg Post Office Action group claims that key figures involved in the decision making process have declined invitations to attend this evening’s discussion.
The public meeting takes place in Barnaderg Community Centre at 9pm.
