PROTESTS IN CITY AGAINST AUSTERITY MEASURES

Up to 150 men, women and children representing community groups in the city are protesting in the city this lunchtime against further budget cuts.

Representatives of the Galway City Community Forum, Action for Equality and the Galway city partnership are leading the protest.

Bearing banners and placards, they marched from the Cathedral into the city and on into the Spanish Arch where speeches are now being heard.
