A protest will take place at the Cúl Trá halting site in Salthill on Monday week, after 10 Traveller families were served with notices to quit, due to health and safety concerns.
The demonstration is being organised by Galway Traveller Movement, supported by Galway Anti Racism Network.
The anti-racism group is accusing the city council of failing to address safety issues at the halting site.
The City Council said it is working with the individual families involved and is in discussion in a bid to resolve their accommodation needs.
It adds that overcrowding is a serious health and safety concern.
The protest will take place at Cúl Tra on June 5th.
Galway Anti Racism Network spokesperson Joe Loughnane said the city council must urgently take action on all aspects of Galway’s housing crisis.
