Proposed swappage scheme could create over 100 jobs in Galway

The scheme would see a 2000 euro reduction in VRT for anyone trading in a car 6 years or older.

The motor industry is calling on the government to ease up on austerity in next month’s budget.

The call comes as the Society for the Irish Motor Industry says up to 5000 jobs could be lost if the sector is faced with a further decline in sales.
