Galway Bay fm newsroom – The proposed Brighter Evenings Bill would have negative consequences for the West according to Galway West TD Sean Kyne

The bill, which would bring Ireland into line with Central European Time, is to be debated again this Autumn after it was opposed by the government last week

The bill was introduced by Independent TD Tommy Broughan (pron Bruen) and proposes to put clocks permanently forward by one hour to extend evening daylight.

Deputy Kyne says the proposal may suit the south and south-east, but would be detrimental to the West of Ireland
