Proposals on TB will hit farmers ‘in pocket’
PROPOSALS for a new TB eradication regime with increased controls and costs to farmers will be strongly opposed by the IFA, according to Galway IFA Animal Health Chairman, Stephen Canavan.
The proposals – put forward by the TB Forum made up of representatives from different sectors – are now being strongly opposed by the IFA, who have accused the Dept. of Agriculture of using the Forum to impose their views on the other stakeholders.
“Farmers have had enough of the endless controls and restrictions on their farms by the Department of Agriculture, with no appreciation of the impact that these measures have had on farmers.
