PROPOSAL TO REDUCE SPEEDING AND RAT RUNNING IN THE CITY

There’s a proposal to set up a ‘Community Speed Watch’ in the city to stop speeding and rat running through estates.

Local election candidate, Niall McNelis says the scheme has proven successful in the UK and if implemented in Galway, would be the first of its kind in Ireland.

Volunteers, the local authority and Gardaí would be involved in the project.
