Property auctions set to move online due to Covid
O’Donnellan & Joyce’s Nationwide Property Auctions will be held in Galway City on the July 3 and 24. The auction will be held remotely and interested parties can register to bid by telephone and online.
As there will be no live audience other than staff conducting the phone and internet bidding on behalf of intending purchasers, the auction can be watched via a live stream.
“With the change in business environment due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are confident that the property auctions will attract many viewers and bidders, as the property market demand for homes continues and many buyers have waited patiently for property viewings to recommence this week,” said auctioneer Colm O’Donnellan.
Each lot will be accompanied by a live screen and bidders will be invited to participate by phone and internet bidding. Each bid will be recorded on the screen for all to see, but the identity of the bidder will remain anonymous.
“We hope to be able to replicate the excitement typically found in the O’Donnellan & Joyce live auction room. We believe it will be an exciting event and the beginning of a new era in which the best of live auctions will marry with the latest technology,” said Mr O’Donnellan.
