Galway Bay fm newsroom – Notice to treat documents are to be served shortly by Galway County Council to land-owners along the N59 and Moycullen bypass route.

The proposed development was given the go ahead by An Bord Pleanala last year subject to six conditions, however funding is not yet in place.

Galway West Deputy Sean Kyne says the notice is a major step forward for the project which confers the right to acquire the land on the payment of the proper compensation which is to be assessed.

Consultants are also to be appointed shortly to prepare contract documents for the N59 realignment and the bypass separately.

Speaking to Galway Bay fm news, Deputy Kyne says that Minister Leo Varadkar is awaiting budgetary figures before deciding on funding allocations for the NRA.

However, he’s hopeful the project will be given due consideration.
