PRIVATE COMPANY APPOINTED TO SELECT CITY SCHOOL TENDER

Galway City VEC has appointed a private company to oversee the tender for a new school building for Coláiste na Coiribe.

Councillor Donal Lyons says the company will assist in selecting specialists such as architects and quantity surveyors.

The plan to rebuild the school to cater for high pupil numbers has been in the pipeline for years.

It’ll be based at Ballyburke in Knocknacarra, and will cost in the region of ten million euro.
