PRISON FOR POSSESSING STEEL BATONS AT CITY LOCATION

Two Polish men found in possession of police-issue steel batons were each given prison sentences at Galway District Court yesterday.

33 year old Raffel Stadnik of 45 O Conaire Road, Shantalla, and 24 year old Krystian Abed Rabo of 37 Castle Lawn Heights, were brought before the same court in custody shortly after their arrest by Garda Claire Burke and Garda Eoin Griffin at Wellpark Grove, Monivea Road, on July 30 last.

The pair were remanded in custody at the time charged with having the steel batons, which had sharply pointed tips, in their possession at the time of their arrest.
