PRISON FOR MAN FOR TRYING TO ROB BARNADERG POST OFFICE

A plasterer, extradited from England last summer for the botched armed robbery of a Post Office in the county, received a six-year prison sentence at Galway Circuit Criminal Court this week.
35 year old John Ryan, a native of Brownsgrove, Tuam, with a rental address at 13 Emerson Avenue, Salthill, pleaded guilty to trespassing at Barnadearg Post Office, Tuam, on March 22, 2002, with intent to steal and with having a firearm in his possession at the time.
