PRISON FOR CHILDMINDERS HUSBAND WHO SEXUALLY ABUSED CHILD

A childminder’s husband has been jailed for 4 years, with the last 2 years suspended, for the sexual abuse of a child placed in his wife’s care, over a four-year period.

The 59 year old man who can’t be named for legal reasons, was sentenced at Galway Circuit Criminal Court.

He pleaded guilty to six counts of sexually assaulting the child at a number of city locations on various dates between 2001 and 2004.
