Presidential visit recognises value of small businesses

RESIDENTS of Ballybane welcomed a special guest yesterday as President Mary McAleese accepted an invitation to see at first hand the projects that are underway at the Enterprise Centre in the city suburb.
The President, along with her husband, Martin met with entrepreneurs and a number of local business and community groups, all of whom are benefitting from the creation of the facility.
The Enterprise Centre has been described as an “incubator” for entrepreneurs who are looking to find their feet as they take the first steps in the business world and it provides invaluable support to help stabilise new ventures.
It was established 18 months ago under the sponsorship of the St Columba’s Credit Union and serves the community of Ballybane, Mervue and the general East of the city.
