President Higgins officially opens Gaelscoil Dara Renmore extension

The President of Ireland says today represents a new era for staff and pupils at a Gaelscoil in the city.

Michael D. Higgins performed the official opening of Gaelscoil Dara in Renmore today.

He also performed the opening of an extension built last year to accomodate the pre-school Naoínra dara, as well as the after school care service.

Staff and pupils of Gaelscoil Dara had a big cead mile failte for the President when he visited the school, and performed music dance and poetry.

Gaelscoil Dara was originally set up in 1984 with 17 pupils, and now has almost 400.
