President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, says the Volvo Ocean race has done so much in promoting a positive image of Galway abroad.

The President did a walk about of the race village and global village this morning.

Last night, the President and his wife Sabina, welcomed the skippers, crews and their families in front of thousands of people on stage the race village.

President Michael D. Higgins says the Volvo Ocean race has embraced Galway’s ancient ties with water.
