President Higgins and Taoiseach both in Galway tomorrow

President Michael D Higgins and Taoiseach Enda Kenny will both attend a number of engagements in Galway tomorrow

First on the President’s itinerary is a major symposium of University leaders from across Europe which takes place at NUIG from noon

He will deliver the keynote address at the Coimbra Group annual conference in the Bailey Allen Hall

From there, the President will travel to the G Hotel at 2.30pm where he will accept an Honorary Fellowship from Galway Mayo Institue of Technology.

Meanwhile, Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s begins his visit in the county where he’ll officially open the new building for Killimor National School at noon

From there he’ll travel to the Marine Institute in Oranmore for an intensive discussion on using the Atlantic as a shared resource

Afterwards the Taoiseach will perform a sod turning at Merlin Woods Primary school at 4pm
