POWERBOAT RACE TO GIVE MASSIVE BOOST TO CITY HOTELS

This summer’s Around Ireland Powerboat Race will provide a massive boost to the local hospitality sector.

A quarter of a million visitors are expected to descend on Galway when the race roars into town on June 5th.

It’s expected to generate around 4000 bed night’s for crew members alone, according to event organiser Maria Moynihan Lee.

In a presentation to the city council this week, Maria Moynihan Lee said the event will take the form of the Volvo stopover with a race village at the docks.
