POWER RESTORED TO ALMOST ALL HOMES IN GALWAY

Power has been restored to nearly all homes in Galway this evening, whose electricity supply was affected by the adverse weather.

As a result of yesterday’s storm more than 8 thousand homes across the county and thousands more across the country were hit with electricity blackouts.

ESB Crews have been working all day to try and restore the electricity supply to the remaining homes.

Work was hampered for a short time today due to lightning, but crews are now continuing to restore power to a small number of homes in isolated areas.
