POSTMORTEM ON MAN KILLED IN HOUSE FIRE NEAR BARNA

A post-mortem examination is being carried out on the body of a man who died in a house fire near Barna.

The fire broke out at his home at Gilnockie, Lenereevagh at around 2am.

The 45 year old victim was taken to UHG this afternoon after a forensic examination was completed at his home.

A 71 year old woman who was also in the house when the blaze broke out is being treated for smoke inhalation at UHG.

Gardaí say they are not treating the fire as suspicious at this stage.
