Post mortems due tonight on bodies found in city house
Post mortem examinations are due to be carried tonight on the bodies of a man and a woman which were discovered at a house in Galway City this afternoon.
It is understood the deaths are not being treated as suspicious by Gardai.
The deceased – both aged in their 50s – were discovered at a house in John Coogan Park in Newcastle shortly after lunchtime and Gardai sealed off the scene for a technical examination.
The bodies are expected to be removed from the scene later this afternoon and brought to University Hospital Galway, where post mortem examinations will be carried out.
The property is understood to be owned by Galway City Council and is not understood to have a gas connection.
A spokesperson for the Council said they have no comment to make until they have been contacted by Gardaí.
