PORTIUNCULA HOSPITAL BLAMES BUILDING WORK FOR MOUSE ACTIVITY

Management at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe says upgrading and refurbishment work is a factor in pest activity in the hospital

Information obtained by the Sunday Tribune under the Freedom of Information Act showed the hospital had callouts for mouse, ant and silverfish activity in the past two years

A spokesperson for Portiuncula Hospital says it’s an old structure and the recent improvement work throughout can expose and disturb the environment which may result in pests

The spokesperson went on to say all pest control issues at Portiuncula Hospital have been addressed

The spokesperson added the hospital has a proactive pest control programme which includes regular inspections
