PLANS TO ROLL BACK TUAM RECESSION

The boom may be over but one East Galway town is rolling back the blues.

Businesses In Tuam have rallied together to launch Ireland’s first community based reward card scheme.

So far, 38 businesses have joined the scheme which is aimed at boosting revenues, tourism and community spirit in the town.

For every purchase over ten euros in participating businesses, the customer will get a stamp on the card.

When the card is complete concessions can then be gained on items such as clothes, shoes, and groceries.
