Plans to reinstate a former mill building in the Townparks area of Tuam have been appealed.

Galway County Council had granted permission for the project in January subject to seven conditions.

It’s now subject to a third party appeal which claims that the application can’t be decided on by the Council because of a land transfer agreement it has with Joe O’ Toole.

The appellant also claims that the application is invalid as it should be for retention of an unauthorised development, not new permission .

An Bord Pleanala is due to make a decision on the case in July
