Galway Bay fm newsroom – There are plans for a looped walk and visitor amenities at the Marconi Wireless Telegraphy site in Clifden.
The site in Derrigimlagh is partially within a bog complex special area of conservation.
The development seeks to build a looped walk, visitor shelters and interpretative materials at the main historic Marconi Wireless Telegraphy site.
The application states that Connemara Chamber of Commerce has already consulted with the National Parks and Wildlife Service regarding the plans.
County planners are due to make a decision in August (19/08).
Chris Shanahan is President of the Chamber of Commerce and says it’s hoped the site could become one of the discovery points along the Wild Atlantic Way.
