PLANS PROGRESS FOR NEW YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH CENTRE FOR THE CITY

Plans are progressing for a new Youth Mental Health centre in Galway city

The National Centre for Youth Mental Health – ‘Headstrong’ has applied to Galway city council for planning permission to build the centre on Mary Street.

The centre will act as a base for ‘Jigsaw Galway’ which is a partnership between the HSE West and Headstrong

The 3 storey building will comprise a drop in area, information point, a consultation room, a counselling room and staff offices

Outreach work via schools, community support project and the internet will also form a big part of the centres services
