Galway Bay fm newsroom – It’s hoped that flood damaged facilities at Leisureland complex in Salthill will all be operational by mid-September.

The Board held a meeting today to discuss the plan for remediation work and the estimated costings after storm water flooded the complex in January.

Members were advised that final technical inspections will be carried out on Monday which will determine the overall cost of repairs.

Fianna Fail Cllr Peter Keane says required remediation work has been estimated by assessors at a cost of one million euro.

It’s hoped the gym and associated dressing rooms will reopen in mid-July which is to be followed by the reopening of the pool in mid-September.

Fine Gael City Cllr Michelle Murphy says re-instatement works have already begun.
