Galway bay fm newsroom – Students of Gaelscoil de hÍde in Oranmore could be accommodated in a brand new building from next September.

The County Council has granted planning permission for the new 2-storey building in the village, close to Calasanctius College and the Old Convent.

It’ll include 16 classrooms, a general purpose room, a library and special education rooms.

Gaelscoil de hÍde has been campaiging for a new building for years, as the current accommodation is overcrowded.

Speaking on ‘Galway Talks’, Mayor of County Galway, Liam Carroll says it’s great news for students and staff at Gaelscoil de hÍde
