Galway County Council has agreed to send a planning officer to Inis Mor on a bi-monthly basis to address the needs of local people.

Last week Cllr. Sean Ó Tuairisg proposed that an officer should regularly visit the islands and that a planning office should be set up in Carraroe.

The County Council say that although they do not plan on setting up an office in Carraroe due to a lack of staff, they would begin to send representatives to the islands on an interim basis.
