PLANNING GO AHEAD FOR NEW CITY GAELSCOIL

Planning permission has been granted for the new building for Colaiste na Coiribe at Ballymoneen Road in Knocknacarra.

Galway City VEC has been given the go-ahead to build a 720-pupil post-primary school at Ballyburke for the all Irish school, currently housed on the Tuam road

The development comprises three-storey and part two-storey teaching blocks, with a sports hall, outside play area and ball courts,

The new building, which includes 68 parking spaces, can go ahead subject to 21 conditions.

Galway bay fm news has learned that among the stipulations imposed by city planners is that a proposed vehicle barrier at Ballymoneen road be left out of the plans.
