Planning application to be prepared for works on Seanapheasteen bridge
Galway Bay fm newsroom – Galway County Council will prepare the planning application for permanent remedial works at Seanapheasteen bridge next month.
At this afternoons meeting of the local authority, senior engineer Liam Gavin said the council had already agreed to do temporary works at the bridge between Rossaveal and Oughterard.
These works will increase the weight restriction on the bridge from 1.5 tonnes to 2 tonnes.
This means it will be able to accommodate all light vehicles, but not emergency vehicles which will have to use an alternative route.
The application for an Bord Pleanala will be prepared next month.
