PIVOTAL CONNEMARA MEETING TO BOOST TOURISM NEXT YEAR

A meeting to boost tourism in Connemara takes place in the Kylemore Abbey this afternoon.

It’s part of a government initiative called the "Gathering" which aims to increase tourism numbers nationally next year.

This afternoon’s meeting aims to plan for the initiative and to possibly extend the tourist season to coincide with other festivities such as Sea Week and Halloween.

Galway West Fine Gael Senator Fidelma Healy Eames is facilitating the gathering which gets underway at 3.30pm.
