PILOT ESCAPES IN DUNMORE CRASH

THE pilot of a microlight plane had a lucky escape when the craft crashed and hit overhead electricity wires in Dunmore yesterday.(Sunday)

The incident happened at approximately 2.45 yesterday afternoon and the pilot suffered minor facial injuies in the crash.

The incident happened at Carrowpaden during a vintage car rally and the light plane landed on the site.

The pilot is from the midlands of Ireland and he was treated by para medical staff at the scene.

Meawnwhile a car was broken into and a handbag taken while it was parked at Dunmore graveyard yesterday.

The incident happened at approximately 11.30 am and anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time and who may have seen anything suspicious should contact Dunmore Gardai at 093-39490.
