Pier Nineteen’s Mullins in solo show
Date Published: 29-Oct-2009
KEITH Mullins, a talented, emerging singer/songwriter, plays Campbell’s Tavern, Cloughanover on Saturday, November 7.
Keith has been playing and writing songs since he was 16 years old after winning his first guitar in a raffle, and he’s come a long way since those early days. His first release came in the form of At Evensong, an album recorded with his former band Pier Nineteen, which received much critical acclaim.
Pier Nineteen played many high profile shows with such artists as Bell X1, Duke Special and The Stunning.
Keith then took some time out from the band to complete a Masters in Music Technology at the University of Limerick. This allowed him to explore different styles of writing and is where he wrote most of the songs on the album.
Keith’s first solo recording The Great Atlantic, which was recorded during the winter of 2008, is an expression of alternative country propelled by interwoven guitars, free flowing fiddles, skiffle rhythms and fragile vocals.
The Great Atlantic aims to draw the listener in with a mixture of lively and slow, clear and complex. The album’s first single Three Steps is currently being offered as a free download from Keith’s web site www.keithmullinsmusic.com.
Tickets for Keith’s show in Campbell’s are €10 and doors are 9pm.
