Peugeot goes Professional with its new Partner model
By Gerry Murphy
Peugeot has introduced a new Professional model to its best-selling Partner van range. Loaded with standard safety and comfort equipment to deliver a superior driving environment for van drivers, the Partner Professional model offers full connectivity as standard via compatible smartphones: Bluetooth, USB socket, on-board WIFI, MirrorLink or Apple Car Play and voice controlled SMS are all accessed through an intuitive colour touchscreen housed in the central dash.
Apple Car Play introduces easy access to iTunes, podcasts, audio books, Spotify and of course Apple Maps, which displays on the central touchscreen.
It also sports a full-size spare wheel, side sliding door, overhead storage compartment, air conditioning, cruise control with speed limiter, Hill Assist, electric windows, rear parking aid, electrically adjustable mirrors, front fog lights, height adjustable driver’s seat, 12v socket, 6 tie-down hooks in the load area and an immobiliser as standard.
An optional Look Pack, with an RRSP price from €220, introduces LED daytime running lights and body coloured bumpers, mirrors, door handles and mouldings, to create a stand-out look.
Featuring a Multi-Flex bench seat and therefore an extra third middle seat, the Partner can transport an additional passenger. The side seat of the Multi-Flex bench folds down completely, freeing up flat floor space and extending the load area to offer capacity for loads up to 3m in length.
The side seat cushion can also fold right back for transporting high loads in the cab. The middle seat backrest folds down to reveal a writing tablet, while its raised cushion provides access to a securable storage space. With a driver’s ladder frame as standard, a half steel/half mesh bulkhead with an opening flap to give full load access via the multi-flex bench seat, is available as an option from €145.
The new Partner Professional model is available with both a 1.6 HDi 75bhp engine (625KG payload) and a 1.6 HDi 92bhp (850KG payload).
“The stylish, new Partner Professional is the latest model to join the strong Peugeot light commercial range, at a time when we have seen a huge 77% increase in our van sales, year to date April,” said Colin Sheridan, Sales and Marketing Director at Gowan Distributors, Peugeot Importers in Ireland.
“Our performance in the market place is testament to our strong consumer offers, including low-cost finance options, and the good value proposition we offer across the Peugeot range. We look forward to continued growth in the second half of 2016 with the new 162-registration plate in July.”
It comes with a retail price from €17,225 plus delivery related charges, or from €14,041 ex-VAT.
