Permission sought to demolish city convent

Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Dominican Convent at Taylors Hill in the city could be demolished.

The Convent has applied for planning permission to knock the existing building and build a new single-storey building.

Outline planning permission for three houses to the west of the site is also being sought.

A decision is expected from city planners at the end of October.
