PEATLAND OFFICIAL MEETS WITH GALWAY TURFCUTTERS

A possible resolution to the ongoing row over restrictions to turf cutting in certain Galway bogs is still a long way off.

That’s the general consesus following a meeting in Mountbellew between bog owners and Conor Skehan from the Peatlands council.

The meeting was held at short notice but went on for two hours and follows protests in Glenamaddy and Portumna last week.
