Educate Together has been appointed as the patron of the new primary school due to open in Knocknacarra next year.
Minister for Education, Ruairí Quinn announced in 2011 that 20 primary schools were to be established by 2015 in a number of locations to cater for increasing pupil numbers.
A further 8-classroom school for Knocknacarra for 2015, under the patronage of Lifeways Ireland Limited, will also be considered.

It follows a report by the Department of Education where, nationally, a preference for Educate Together schools was expressed.
In announcing the Knocknacarra school under the patronage of Educate Together, Minister Quinn says he took into account the parental demand for diversity.
