Patients stuck in Galway hospitals cost over 9 thousand euro a night
Galway Bay fm newsroom – More than 9 thousand euro a night could be forked out by the Health Service Executive for patients in Galway hospitals over Christmas.
This is depsite the patients being cleared to leave by a senior doctor.
11 patients in Galway hospitals are reportedly ready to leave, however alternative arrangements for accommodation or care have not been put in place.
Home and Community Care Ireland says the Government needs to act to ensure elderly frail people can access appropriate funding to allow them return home from hospital.
